What I learned about trust and journalism: POLIS Journalism Conference 2013
Journalists are among the least trusted of all the professional industries, along with bankers and MPs, and the phone hacking scandal has done nothing to disprove the terrible allegations that some members of our industry do choose to act in a way that can damage the reputations of us all. The theme was trust; in the BBC, newspapers, social media, politics, data and all the rest: can you trust journalism today?

Does Rolf Dobelli think everyone in the world is a mindless idiot? His Guardian article certainly seems to think so. I’d like to think that I have a fairly moderate and open mind, and as such, it’s unlikely that I will read something that I strongly disagree with. As I currently study for my final university exams in history and politics, my brain is constantly subconsciously connecting themes in my interests together. Star Wars and racism, the war on terror and foreign policy of the United States, or, in this case, collaborative grassroots journalism and a sociological historical movement.
